The power generation industry demands particularly high levels of safety and protection, in particular with regard to the overspeed protection of turbines.<br />
Since downtime is a critical cost factor, power plant turbines should only be turned off when absolutely necessary. On the other hand, it must be possible to shut down the turbine if required, to prevent harm to man and machine. And this is precisely where our protection systems prove their worth.<br />
BRAUN protection systems monitor such plants and guarantee the smooth operation of safety-critical applications including rotating parts, as in a case of power generation. An implementation may be made in compliance with SIL3 certification.<br />

Industrial applications that include rotary equipment require a high level of safety and protection, especially overspeed protection. In this area of activity, our systems monitor pumps, conveyors, motors, and transmission equipment. In addition, our customers use our protection systems to detect speed and direction as applicable to automotive and power tool testing. Further applications can be found in R&amp;D as well as in the maintenance of machinery and equipment.<br />
BRAUN protection systems monitor these installations and provide the necessary safety and operational stability levels required in plants utilizing the rotational equipment. In compliance with SIL3 certification, should this be required.<br />

<p>Demanding environments require extraordinary solutions. For example, petrochemical plants are exposed to the danger of explosion. To exclude this eventuality, we provide specially developed products subject to additional and even more stringent levels of quality control.</p>
<p>BRAUN speed sensors and barriers are used in all areas with an increased risk of ignition or explosion due to gas. Therefore, we always offer our ATEX, UKEX, IECEx, KCs certified and UL/CSA approved products along with the right solutions for these particularly critical areas.</p>
